	Michael Milligan	Date of Passing : Nov 19, 2005 Michael R. Milligan, passed away on Friday, 19 November 2005, at his apartment in Sarasota, Florida; he was 54 years old. Michael was born on 1 August 1951, in Park Ridge, Illinois, the son of Isabelle and Leslie Milligan. He is survived by his father in Arlington Heights, Illinois; sisters Kathleen, Janice, and Carol; a daughter Molly and twin sons Max and Hank; three nieces and a nephew; and Nadine, his close companion and friend for many years. Mike completed his primary and secondary education in Park Ridge, graduating from Maine South High School in 1969. He was an Eagle Scout, Boy Scouts of America. Michael completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving his B.S. degree in Zoology/Marine Biology in 1973. While an undergraduate, Mike worked part time as a benthic technician for NALCO Chemical in the Chicago region. He later enrolled in graduate school at the University of Southern Mississippi, receiving a Masters of Science degree in 1979. In May 1984, Mike took a position as a benthic biologist at Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Florida, working there until August 1993 before leaving to start his own consulting firm in Sarasota, the Center for Systematics and Taxonomy. In 1991, Mike enrolled in a PhD program at Göteborg University in Göteborg, Sweden, under the direction of Dr. Christer Erséus. He studied with Dr. Erséus at both Göteborg University and also at the Swedish Museum of Natural History (Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet) in Stockholm for short periods of time over the course of several years, but for a variety of reasons did not complete his doctoral program, choosing to focus on taxonomy projects through his business in Sarasota, Florida.

Born in Chicago, Michael was a graduate of Maine South High School, where he met and then married his high school sweetheart, Karen Pilch, on April 27, 1974. He opened a business, City Suburban GoodYear in Niles, with his father and brother. He was an auto mechanic and a marine mechanic. He was presently the owner and operator, along with his son Michael of Ingleside, of Dockside Mobile Marine Service. Michael enjoyed coin collecting, lighthouses and remote control helicopters. He loved boating and just being around the water. He will be remembered for his good sense of humor and for being a doting grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Karen, of 37 years; two children, Meredith (Denis) Hernandez of Round Lake and Michael (Krissy Jasper) Stynoski of Round Lake; five grandchildren, Nicole Stynoski, Dylan Hernandez, Christian Hernandez, Johnny Stynoski and Aiden Stynoski; his parents, John and Irene Stynoski; and two brothers, Rudy (Penny) Stynoski of Hampshire and Wade (Mary) Stynoski of Morton Grove. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a great friend to many.

	Karen Hansen	Date of Passing : Feb. 1, 2008 Karen Hansen Kopriva passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Stanford Hospital in California, of chronic rejection. A memorial service was held at the Lafayette/Orinda Presbyterian Church, Calif., on Feb. 9. Karen grew up in Park Ridge, and graduated from Maine South High School and the University of Iowa, then moving to Lafayette. Karen had open heart surgery while attending college and was a recipient of a successful heart and double lung transplant nine years ago, and a kidney transplant in November of 2006. Karen volunteered many hours with the California Transplant Network in California and the Lindsay Wildlife Museum in Walnut Creek, Calif. She will long be remembered for her wonderful spirit and help to other transplant recipients. She was the beloved daughter of Mary Lou Hansen, previously of Park Ridge, now of Inverness, and the late John L. Hansen. She is also survived by her dear sister, Kimberley Liner of Schaumburg and was the loving aunt of John and Katie Liner, both of Schaumburg.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Kevin, and her 9-year-old daughter, Nina Elizabeth. They continue to live in Champaign, Illinois. Her mother, brother and two sisters also survive her. After high school, Nancy went to the University of Illinois in Urbana, from which she graduated with a BFA in scenic design and an MFA in costume design and construction. When she wasn't working in the Kranert Center for the Performing Arts, she built up a business as a seamstress of custom-designed and -made gowns, especially wedding gowns, near her home and in Chicago.

Daniel Erickson, she passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, after a courageous year-long battle with breast cancer. She married Randall Gene Barstow, formerly of Galesburg, on March 26, 1994, in Park Ridge. They have a son, Daniel Gene. She was raised and educated in Park Ridge, graduating from Main South High School. She worked as the executive assistant to the president of Centel Corporation in Chicago, where she met her husband, for 18 years. After the birth of their son, she became a full-time mom, until she found her true calling in children's ministries. Most recently, she was the director of elementary education ministries at First Baptist Church of Geneva, and was an active member on the Children's Ministries Leadership Team. She was responsible for coordinating and staffing the Sunday morning elementary education programs at both of the church's East and West Campus locations. She was also a regular volunteer for Adventure Club during the school year and vacation bible school at the church each summer. In addition to her church activities, she actively volunteered as a team mom for her son's sports teams and enjoyed gardening and tending to the flower beds at her home. She was also an avid Chicago Bears fan. Surviving are her husband and son, both of Geneva; her mother of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Denise and Judy (Michael) Rawls, also of Plano, and Janis of Des Plaines; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Russell G. and Carlene N. Barstow of Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.

Karnstedt, 54, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born June 19, 1957, in Birmingham, Ala., grew up in Park Ridge, Ill. and was a 1975 graduate of Maine South High School. He was also a graduate of Illinois State University and was currently the vice president of operations at Lakeland Plastics. Inc. in Mundelein. Hans was an active member of St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville, where he had been a Vestry member, warden, Youth Group leader and founding member of the Homer's Men's Group. He was a loving husband and father, fun and treasured uncle, awesome brother-in-law and dear friend to many. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, wines, and his cabin on North Twin Lake in Wisconsin. He was a trivia and history buff and master maker of Cherry Bounce. Surviving are his wife, Julia and sons, Paul and Matthew Karnstedt, all of Libertyville; his sister, Barbara Karnstedt of Des Plaines and brother, Brad (Connie) Karnstedt of Coppell, Texas; and his uncle, Drew Karnstedt. He also leaves his special canine companion, Maxie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lois Karnstedt.

	David Smail	Date of Passing : 8 Nov 2012 David grew up attending District 64 schools and was a 1980 graduate of Maine South High School. He earned a Criminal Justice degree from Truman State University, a Master's degree in Education and Special Education from Northern Illinois University and his Type 75 School Administration certification. A lifelong advocate for children, adolescents and families, David began his professional career at Maryville Academy and then at The Park Ridge Youth Campus, where he met his wife, Laura. He worked for the Department of Youth Services in Highland Park at 'The Firehouse' and was past Director and a staff member at the Park Ridge Teen Center. Dave worked at Maine West High School as a special education teacher, then as a Dean of Students and most recently was Director of Student Personnel Services. He influenced and touched the lives of so many students, families and District 207 staff and will be deeply missed. David is survived by his wife, Laura Coggin Smail; his children, Christopher, Ethan and Katherine; siblings, Janet Evans, Harry (Teresa) Smail, Juliann (Richard) Moravec; nieces and nephews, Erin, Bowen and Ian (Marissa) Evans, Emily and Carl Moravec, Taylor and Kyra Gray; great-nephews, Hudson and Lawson Evans.

He was a varsity wrestler, he was ranked nationally. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2003, currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. He is survived by his parents, Nancy J. 	Bernie Brady	Date of Passing : 08/04/04 Mr. Brady died at his Park Ridge home Wednesday after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. He was 75. He was born in Chicago, grew up on the South Side, attending Parker elementary and high schools. World War II had ended recently after he graduated, and he joined the Army. Returning, he enrolled at Northwestern University on the GI Bill. He showed up uninvited at basketball tryouts his freshman year, was put on the freshman team, became a substitute player on the varsity team his sophomore and junior years, and was a starter and captain of the team his senior year. He graduated with a degree in physical education. Was hired at Maine East, when Maine South opened in 1964, Mr. Brady became head basketball coach there. In the next few years, he led his teams to a 191-48 record. He was named Illinois basketball coach of the year in 1974 and was elected to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1982.
