Status: Deceased Karen M Bales	Date of passing: 10 Dec 2017 About our Alumni: Karen M. Bales. Age 51, died December 10, 2017. That day the world lost one of its brightest lights. For those of you who were blessed enough to know her, you knew she had the most determined spirit and lust for life of anyone you had ever known. Karen lived with adversity for over 30 years, but never once complained, never felt sorry for herself, and would not tolerate pity from anyone. Watching her live life on her terms is something that everyone should have seen. Once you met Karen, your life was changed forever, and you never forgot her. This was evidenced very clearly this past two weeks by the sheer number of health care workers who have come into contact with Karen over these past many years who came to see her as she was starting on her final journey. They and so many others repeatedly told the family that she had affected their lives in some significant way. Karen is the beloved daughter of Edward W. “Ted” and the late Barbara, nee LaVarre, Bales; loving sister of Katie (Kevin) Jacob, Tim (Beth Kubow) Bales and the late Teddy Bales; cherished aunt of Aliah.
