Students ask chance to help South nicknaming committee

   TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

It has come to the attention of some students that a committee has been chosen regarding the colors and nickname of Maine South. Although we all agree that these jobs must be accomplished, it has been overlooked that more students than just this special committee would be interested in making these decisions....
This job does not belong to these chosen students. It does not belong to the administration. It goes not even belong to the Student Council. This job belongs to the students of Maine South--ALL OF THEM.
The only way for a situation like this to be handled fairly is to let the students in question hand in their ideas; and that these ideas be voted on by the entire student body of Maine South.
....In this way, everyone will take pride in the new school's name. In this way, and only in this way, everyone will be happy. We are confident that with this plan, we, the student body, will be able to pick out a name for Maine south which students and faculty will be proud of.
We think that this plan is the only fair plan. We think this plan will work. Thank you.
